I'M
GETTING MARRIED!
[
...
]-29.01.2004, Thursday
Wow... preparing for a wedding is such
a tedious job. Even a simple beach wedding required so much arrangements.
The money is big too." I'm getting married!!!! "
Hahaahahah....
no... I'm NOT...
it's just that I'm helping a friend with his marriage and family class,
a general education lecture assignment. Pretending that I'm the bride
and he's the groom. Some parts really need expertise from girl .
He's in-charged of the honeymoon part (6-month backpacking) and I'm helping
him with the cards and schedule. Just the schedule for the actual wedding
day is really hell... so many things needs to be considered. I modified
the cards that I downloaded from the net. The schedule, I copied pasted
from the net too and modified to suit the wedding. Have to get these whole
thing done in 2 weeks time. Marirage really needs two to get things work.
You can't do it on your own. It's not a one-man show. Not only the preparations
part but also after that.
Anyway... I'm still blur with how my actual wedding will be in the future.
What type will it be? I also have no idea. One thing for sure, the 6-month
backpacking honeymoon is not my type. From this experience, I realised
that to hold even a simple wedding ceremony is so difficult and tedious,
lack of communications with your spouse will ruin the whole thing. There'll
be lots of fights regarding these matters during the preparations. The
easiest way is to sign the marriage cert and that's it. U're married!
No need receptions and so on, this is the fastest way and hassle-free.
Oh well... we'll see how it'll be next time.
KUCHING'S
FLOODING...
[
...
]-26.01.2004, Monday
Kuching's flooding... Kuching's flooding...
make a sampan... make a sampan... (one of the scout's song), rain, rain
go away... the rain is still coming. Since Saturday till today. Floods
making the headlines of the newspapers. The worst hit area is Batu Kawa
(If I'm not mistaken), We did go to that area on the 3rd day of CNY, phew...
luckily the flood hadn't started yet. The water level is so high, around
3 feet. This is the worst flood that
ever hit Kuching for years.
Luckily my area has no problem with floods even though Sarawak River is
not far away and other smaller rivers surrounding this area. Only little
"flood" that's cause by blockage
of the drain and the water
couldn't flow from the roads and roundabouts but still not much problem,
a Kancil can still go tru' it without any problem. This area is the highest
ground in Kuching, I mean flat land, don't count the hills. If flood is
experience here, the whole Kuching will be underwater.
However my bedroom is flooded ehheheh...
the rain water came in from the air-con's hole. The installer didn't fill
the hole properly after drilling a hole there. sigh... a few cloths will
do the trick anyway to soak the water.

TIRING...
[
...
]-24.01.2004, Saturday
This is the 3rd
day of CNY. Woke up at 7:30am, there wasn't any rain, just cloudy, at
8am, the rain came, very heavily, non-stop the whole day tru'.
Reached Lee's house at about 10am. Waited for Ann and others until 10:30pm++.
Then waited for Khoon Howe until 11:15am++. After that, went to Lee Ling's
house, Ann's, Audrey's, Khoon Howe's, Jia Min's, Hui Yi's and the last
one my house. Ann didn't manage to go to Khoon Howe's house coz she had
another appointment. After my house, the girls plan to go home, left Khoon
Howe, Lee and me. We decided to go to Angela's house but didn't have her
phone number. We went there to try our luck, she's out. So Khoon Howe
went to visit his other friends and left the two of us. Since it's still
early, me and Lee tried to figure out whose house that we could go. He
took out the telephone list and we decided to try to go to Chelsia's house,
long time no see. We called her mobile phone but the number's changed,
luckily her home phone is still the same. We're so lucky, she just came
home from visiting. She moved to a new house too... wow.. it's like a
trend, many people are moving to new houses. Next year, it'll be Lee's
turn. We got her address and looked for her house, it's quite easy to
find. After Chelsia's house, Lee sent me home. His brother wanted to use
the car.
ouch...
I knocked my head at Lee's car's door. It was at
Khoon Howe's house, when we wanted to leave, I opened the car door and
I overestimate/underestimate (not sure which one, getting confuse after
the knock) the door height and I hit the edging of the door. So painful...
got no "ang paus" from the visitings but got a "pau"
on my forehead. Stupid girl! ahhhahhah... It's not that I'm new to his
car, I've been going in and out of his car for so many times, my goodness...
and this is the 1st time I knocked my head at the door.
Actually, me and Lee planned to go to Matang or Damai in the afternoon
around 3pm. That's mean, we'll speed up the visitings but it seemed like
the rain didn't want to stop so we just cancelled the whole idea and enjoyed
our visitings slowly.
At night, got Lilian's call. She said that Catherine was having open house
and asked me want to go or not. We went there and I just had my dinner
at home, so I didn't eat much but I ate lots of Jelly. So full... Went
home at around 9:30pm.
Very tiring, had been eating and drinking the whole day. Not only that,
woke up so early too and there goes my 3rd day of CNY!
HAPPY
MONKEY YEAR!!!!

]-22.01.2004, Thursday
It's the 1st day
of CNY, heavy downpour the whole morning. Once switched on the phone,
sms came in non-stop. Spent half and hour to settle it.
Went to Lee's house in the afternoon, he asked me to be there at 1:30pm
but I only started my journey at 1:30pm
our plan was I go to his house for visitng 1st then go watch movie with
his bro and sis, then after movie go to my place for visiting. Since I
had not had my lunch yet, I had my lunch 1st then I asked my dad to send
me to his house, on the way, there're jams and accidents. When I reach
his place, it's 2:15pm++ already (supposed to be there at 2pm), so after
greetings his parents, we went for movie directly. The movie started at
3pm, we're a few minutes late only hehehhe... luckily, traffic jams everywhere.
Watched Silver Hawk, quite cool very high tech and many pretty girls in
there too
.
After the movie, we went back to his house, it's 5pm already almost to
their dinner time, I was planning to ask him to send me home before their
dinner but seemed like we're having time constraint and I had to have
dinner with them... so paiseh ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
After dinner, it's still early so we made a surprise call to Lee Ling
and told her we're going to her house. She moved to new house already.
Having some difficult times searching for her house at the end she had
to drive to find us at Lorong Stampin Tengah 5 then lead us to her house.
Actually we're on the right track already and we called her for further
directions, since she's still new in that area, she thought we're at the
wrong direction, she didn't know there's a Lorong Stampin Tengah 7 there.
hahahha...
After that, Lee sent me home and was at my house watching TV until 9:30pm.
So... 1st day of CNY... that's how I spent it.
CNY
EVE

]-21.01.2004, Wednesday
Busy cleaning up.
Wow... so dirty... rubbish and dust accumulated for one year. We usually
spring clean on the eve of CNY. This year, there are lots of fireworks
and they started early too. It's illegal but who cares... upon reaching
midnight, more coming, this year have more variations. I like looking
at fireworks light up the night sky. 12am! HAPPY MONKEY YEAR!

PAYCHECK,
McD
[
...
]-14.01.2004, Wednesday
Watch Paycheck
with Lee today and I would said it's a very cool movie. At first it's
a bit confusing but towards the middle, I finally understood what it's
all about. While
watching the movie, suddenly the film jammed and caused quite a long blackout
. If not because of the blackout,
the movie would end before 9pm.
I liked the part where Mike and Dr. Potter escaping from the bad guys.
They both ran to a BMW showroom to find a BMW that match the key that
Mike had. He kept on pressing the button hoping that one of the BMW will
unlock, he even said to Dr. Potter,"Find a BMW!", very funny...
it's all BMW! He tried
and none of the car unlocked. Dr. Potter asked for the key and told him
that they're at the wrong section and it turned out that the key was for
a BMW motorbike. The chasing part between the bad guys and also the FBI
really got my adrenaline rushing.
After the movie, we went to McD to meet Ann and Foong. Thought of meeting
Nick today coz he said he can meet us today and it turned out that he
couldn't last minute. His friend lost his phone at the cineplex while
watching LOTR. Sigh.. long time no see Nick... hopefully he can join us
for our CNY visiting.
Took quite a lot of photos today, will upload it tomorrow.

REGISTER AS VOTER & GOT MY CREDIT CARD
[

]-12.01.2004, Monday
I bought Black
Blue hair dye yesterday, I went to the "auntie" there and got
my hair trimmed, now it's medium length and my curls are gone. Oh well...
the color is nothing, it's virgin hair the colour doesn't go in some more
it's almost like black, so makes no difference at all, only my hair length
changed. However, the main aim for me to dye my hair is not because of
the colour but to have some sort of gives it a layer of shield. Next time
then I'll try more dramatic colour.
Got myelf register as voters yesterday. They set up a stall at Sarawak
Plaza and I registered. At the same time, my dad was approached by a Citibank
staff, they're doing promotion there also, then my dad signed up for me
( I
have my own card!!! , not really...
I'm sharing my dad's account).
Just for fun, I wouldn't be using it anyway, it's a Visa, no registration
fee and no annual fee for 2 years, so no harm. Some shops do not accept
AMEX so at least I have a Visa and we can use it alternately.
Will catch up with Gilbert this afternoon .
It'll be very short meeting, he's so busy...
Finally got to meet that busy guy, ahhahhah...
I was expecting a "giant", and it turned out that he's not that
big after all and it's not that "fat" neither. He's as tall
as Lee I guess... or taller a bit. I can still recognized him after 5
years, only that he's thinner now compare to 5 years ago. We met at Informatics
then we went to Red Tea for a drink to catch up on things. We really had
so many to talked about but only had 1 hour limit coz he had to get his
new spec and do some last minute shopping with his parents before he goes
back to NZ this Wed. I sent him home and he invited me in and I spent
another 1 hour at his place. Met his dad and I don't know what to say,
he asked me things, my answers are either "YES" or "NO"
hahhaah... didn't manage
to meet his mom coz she's having a headahce. 5 years and finally we meet
again. 2 hours to catch up on 5 years things, really not enough but better
than never.
WRONG
ONE! DYE MY HAIR... FONT CHANGED
[
...
]-11.01.2004, Sunday
Hahahhhah... this
is so damn cool... It proves that my sis and I really looked alike
This mornign at church, after the service, one of her friend thought that
I'm her and she called out my sis' name and instead of approaching her,
she approached me and talked to me, my sis was just standing next to me,
she was wondering what's wrong with her friend and I was like, huh???
Very embarassing
for her... ahhahahah...
I decided to dye my hair. I'll buy the colour and bring it to the nearby
"auntie" to dye it for me, at the same time I'll ask her to
trim my hair. It's much cheaper. I'll also buy hair masque and do it myself
at home. Hope that my hair condition will improved. My hair is so freezy...
so unmanageable... and lack of shine... sigh... I'm going to buy dark
colour such as blue, purple or very dark brown or very dark red. It's
all depends, see what colour I can find. Red seemed like a very popular
colour this season, getting a bit fed up with red, wherever u go, the
hair is red. Going to the salon is far more expensive, sigh... we'll see...
maybe I'll go to the salon or maybe DIY, not sure yet, just wait and see...
Notice the difference? I've changed the font size to 2 and used Arial.
Lee was complaining that the words are too small and it's like little
ants marching all over my page, ahhaahh...
PROBLEM

There's some funny problems with the commenting
system. I couldn't sort it out. It's wired, I tried to post comment and
it shows lots of SQL problems. However, the comment did appear. It's successfully
posted . I guess there's
some problem with enetation.co.uk
WHAT
A SURPRISE! [
...
]-06.01.2004, Tuesday
Finally Gilbert is back! He called and we had
a long chat on the phone. Almost couldn't recognize his voice and he's
got a very heavy accent (what type? I don't know how to explain ;p) when
he speak in mandarin, so different compare to 5 years ago, cool... I couldn't
rememer it's 1 hour or half hour, hehehehe... lost track... 5 years...
there're so many to talk about, we'll continue next time we meet in person.
He said Kuching changes a lot, he even almost lost his way home, so funny...
5 years lots of changes. He's used to the cold weather in NZ now back
here, he's complaining that it's hot here... hahhah... lucky him that
now it's rainy seasons, so it's a bit cooler. Too bad he can't stay long,
he has limit of 14 days away from NZ, has to go back before the 14th day,
or else he'll loss his PR forever. Sigh... 5 years and haven't get the
PR yet, the rules are getting stricter now, all his friends that went
to NZ the same year as him too face the same problem. Pity them...
MY
LAPTOP HAVE PROBLEM! [
...
]-05.01.2004, Monday
It's not even 1 month yet and now it has problem.
This time it's the problem with the LCD screen. When I on it, nothing
amiss, then after a while, I saw some blinking lines, then disappear.
I inspected it and noticed a long line stretching from the top of the
screen to the bottom as if cutting the screen into half. On and off, it
blinked. Then at one point it just didn't go away anymore, the line develop
from dashed line to a long straight line that is light blue. My warranty
card isn't sent yet! Thinking of sending it today and today problem arised!I
informed my dad about it and his friend came to pick it up to send it
to the "doctor" hahhahah... so... I have no more laptop for
the time being, have to make do with the PC. My dad asked my cousin about
it and he told us that his clients also encountered problem like this
with PC Suria laptop. The main culprit is the wire that connected to the
screen. The wire is too short, that's why when u open it up too big, the
wire cannot support the distant. Usually, they will replace it with a
new laptop. I don't know how NEC will do it but I hope I'll get a new
one hahahaha... then this will be my third laptop
and hopefully they will not put the blame on me because I open it up so
big (My bro was testing how big it can open up few days ago), since it
allows it to be opened up so big, then they should make the wire longer,
if not then they must restrict the opening.
NO
CONNECTION... [
...
]-04.01.2004, Sunday
For two days, no connection... cannot connect
to the net, sigh... everyone else can connect but not me. Usually it only
lasted for few hours only, now it's getting worst, two days... no point
of complaining to TM-Net, they don't even bother about it. Hope tomorrow
can connect. I have so many things need to be done.

HAPPY
2004! GILBERT IS COMING BACK! [
...
]-01.01.2004, Thursday
It's 2004! Happy New Year! This is the new face
of SweetSurrender for 2004!
Where I got the inpirations for this design? I'm not so sure too, I found
out Photoshop can do this effect and I just thought that it's nice for
my new theme since I like to gaze at the sky when I have nothing to do,
so... why not... Not only that, one of my favourite colours is blue. It's
a nice combination. The effect it's like the sun shining brightly in the
clear blue sky indicating a good weather. I like sunny day.
This year, there's no splash page coz I think it's better to let visitor
come in directly rather than wait for the splash page to load completely
and press the link. I noticed that some of my visitors couldn't find where
to click. I used pull down menu for navigation because it saves up a lot
of space. I did try to list the links out one by one but it's a bit hard
to align them, I don't know why, it's problem with the table I guess...
New year resolution... I don't have... I just go with the flow. I'm going
to complete my degree this year in August if everything goes well, after
the degree, I don't know what to do next, find a job maybe... I'm 22 this
year, never worked before, what a shame... ehehheheh...
guess have to find a job, need to be more finacially independent. What
kind of job, I don't know... As a start, a lecturer is fine, at the same
time, continue with my master... Not sure... we'll see by then. Will I
still be single this year? I also don't know... sigh... many of my close
friends have their own partner already and I'm still single, everyone
is so busy with their own partner and I'm really bored and lonely! However,
I will not get a bf just because I'm bored and everyone has one. I hopefully
there's luck this year and
find someone that is really meant for me. Just wait and see...
Plan to go to the beach but because of the rain no mood anymore...
All the best to everyone and have a nice year ahead! Wow... CNY is coming
soon... I haven't done any shopping yet hahhahahah...
Checked my mail just now and got a mail from Gilbert, he's coming back
this year for 10 days or so! Yipeeee.... long time no see, 5 years...
don't know how he looks like now. Really looking forward to it. Not even
his recent photos in 5 years, he sent me twice but they lost in the mail...
sigh... now can see him in person! He might be back on the 4th. He once
told me that he would only be back after he finished his studies at NZ
but I kept on praying and praying without fail for almost 5 years and
finally he's back for holiday and he has not completed his studies yet
and he'll be back thank you Lord for answering my prayer, eheheheheh...
though it takes
5 years. I have so many male friends but he's the only one still maintaining
our friendship for so long, some more after some tough times that we went
tru' few years back(long... story... only some of my close friends knows
about it, not going to reveal it here ).
I really appreciate this friendship. CHEERS!!!
HAPPY
2004 EVE! [
...]-31.12.03,Wednesday
Nothing much happen today. Spent my time designing
next year webpage and if everything goes well it'll be up by 1/1 or 2/1.
Went to the clinic for my backache, it actually got better yesterday but
because of my sensitive nose, the dust(my dad drilled the cupboard to
fixed the cupboard doors) and cigarette smoke from somebody downstair
smoking gave a very hard time and I sneezed non-stop and this put pressure
to my back and making it worst until it felt like when u accidentally
twisted or sprained ur ankle or shoulder. Sigh... so painful. having difficulty
walking , sitting and standing up. I got medicine for preventing me from
sneezing, cough and pain killer because the sneezing and cough will make
it even worst. Hope that it'll go away soon...
In the evening Lee, his sis and me made a last minute decision to watch
ghost movie, "Wishing Stairs". This is scarier than "The
Tale of Two Sisters". This is really a ghost story about some high
school girls that wanted to get what they want very badly and make a wish
a the wishing stairs and the result will be sacrificing the life of their
friends. It's not that scary at the beginning, only towards the end, it's
getting more and more frightening. I didn't watch much when it came to
the scary scene, so I'm not frightened by it. hahahhah... (so... what's
the point of watching ghost movie when you didn't watch scary part? I
don't know ;p) His sis spent most of the time hiding behind her bag, dare
not to watch it, so cute...
After the movie, 8:15pm, we met his sis' friends and then went to 4th
mile for steamboat. It took us one hour to get there because of traffic
jam at the Golden Triangle, we should have taken the other route if we
knew it. The place changes a lot, there used to be people BBQ for u but
now it makes no different dining there and Hornbill. We had a very oily
dinner. Plan to stay there until 12am for countdown but we decided to
go home earlier coz we're quite tired, eating too much and very sleepy.
We went home at 11pm.
