LAST
DAY OF JULY[
...
]-31.07.2004, Saturday
Tomorrow Kuching Festival kick start! Tonight they'll have count down
at Padang Merdeka. Love August because there's a reason to eat out now
hahahaha... or "ta pau" back home, yummy... Hate August... Exam
month!!!!
Assignment due date is out, it's 4th September but I'll make sure I'll
get it done a.s.a.p, what a familiar date hmmmm.... ehehehhe... it's my
birthday! Assignment progress so far so good, really have lots to write
but have to limit it and have to take time out from it to do revision.
So far only completed 20%++. Hopefully can get it done before 7th August...
cross my finger...
ASSIGNMNET!!![
...
]-29.07.2004, Thursday
Finally... it's out! Read tru' the questions, did not seem very hard as
I had most of the information required already, all I need is to recycle
my pass terms' assignment ehehheeh... however still have to some little
researches so accomodate the references listing requirements. Word limit
of 2000-2500, I'm just worry that I'll overshot coz there're really so
mnay thing to write about. Heard that this facilitator is known for strict
marking and last term's student only got 59 for the highest. Hopefully
he'll be more lenient this term since it is released almost towards the
end of the term and we do not have much time to concentrate in it as we
have to prepare for coming exams at the same time. Due date will be known
tomorrow. Is this lucky or otherwise... I don't know...
NEW
LINKS ADDED[
...
]-26.07.2004, Monday
Two new aviation links added in Links. A Search
Engine Submitter is also added. It allows you to submit your website URL
to other search engines and it is free, a new mini tool from bravenet.com
I've editted Smoking Is Ain't Cool
article.
RESTLESS...[
...
]-21.07.2004, Wednesday
Saturday night's photos already uploaded in my online
photo album, Y2K SMK Pending Fifth Fromer "Reunion".
I'm getting more and more restless now, Information Management assignment
is not out yet!!!! This is my final subject and this the the only assignment
that I have to wait for so long, exam willl be on 23th August. Usually
it is released 2 weeks after the class commenced or sometimes the 1st
day of the class. According to our facilitator, UK side is now having
summer holiday and many staff on leave and no one can release the assignment.
Sigh... I'm supposed to be completing my assignment by now and preparing
for coming exam but the assignment isn't out yet. I hate to prepare for
exam and at the same time doing the assignment, summore doing everthing
last minute. I have another subject to prepare for and the exam is on
17th August!!!
less than one month!!!! Oh my... I'm going to hit my head to the wall!!!!!
Hope that it'll be out within this week, and that's mean I'll have about
one week plus/one week to complete it before August though we will be
given 3 weeks to complete it, I don't have that much time since I need
to prepare for DB exam and the submission date might be just few days
before the exam or maybe on the exam that day!!!! It's messing up all
my schedue! I'm getting crazy now!!!!
ANOTHER
SNATCHING CASE...[
...
]-19.07.2004, Monday
This time my aunt is the victim! Her necklace was snatched Saturday night
around 9:30pm in front of her house. I came back around that time after
the reunion luckily I didn't meet the snatch thief coz I was bringing
a handbag that night. Phew... However the thief failed in the bid of snatching
her necklace coz it snapped and good thing that she's not hurt. Few months
ago, one of our clerks got snatched too, same area but it's in the morning.
Geee... This really frightens me, I'm staying in this area too, dare not
to go out alone at night or even going home alone at night. How safe are
we now? Sigh... It's better not to bring handbag out and dump all of them
in your pocket and better don't use yellow gold jewelleries coz it's too
obvious, using platinum ones are better I guess coz I don't think they'll
thought that u're wearing platinum jewelleries, they might thought it's
silver or just some cheap jewelleries you can buy anywhere using less
than RM10. Hahhaha... anyway, I don't like yellow gold.
Finally activiated my credit card heheheeh... went shopping with my family
and activated it. Swiped the card at 3 places. Guardian's, Parkson Grand
and Bata, total amount around RM200. I guess I'm getting a bit addicted
already hehehhe... it's so easy, swiped and signed that's it. Hmmm...
must control myself, if not I might max it hahahah... Will I? I also don't
know, I guess not, I'm not that "crazy" ehheeh... Kev... better
think twice on providing me a supplementary card ahhaah... who knows I'll
max yours and not my dad's. Think twice...
UPLOADING...[

I'm in the process of uploading all the photos took last night into my
online album. Still waiting for some more photos from Eu Soons's camera.
MYHOUSE
STEAMBOAT [
...
]-17.07.2004, Saturday
Went to Myhouse Steamboat at Pending, opposite Shell station, for Y2K
fifth former gathering. We're expecting more than 10 ppl turned out but
only 9 of us(me, Lilian, Catherine, Eu Soon, Fui Kian, Yen Sin, Ai Chiew,
Yi San, Steven). Reached there almost 7:30pm. The placed was packed, luckily
Catherine and friends went there early to reserve a table, if not there'll
be no more place to sit. Two type of soups were served for the steamboat,
Tom Yam(left) and original(right). Only those typical steamboat ingredients
available, nothing much special but you could find "cencaluk",
salted prawns paste that is very famous among the locals here, forgot
to take the photo. I hadn't came across any steamboat place serves this
paste, this is the only one. One person RM15, all you can eat.
The forth photo
is some of the ingredients you could find there. There were "lok-lok"
also, chicken meat with hotdog/lamb with hotdog. There were also fried
chicken wings, forgot the photo also. The fried chickens finished up quite
fast so you must act fast to get it or else u'll have to wait for it again.
It's
funny that 8 out of 9 of us ordered lime juice(RM2), what a coincident!
Ahahahah... the waitress was surprise too. Steven ordered a Coke.
Took quite a lot of photos and will need sometimes to upload them to my
online album. We left at about 9:30pm. All of them decided to go for a
walk at Waterfront but I didn't join them, I went home after that.
REST
IN PEACE...[
...
]-11.07.2004, Sunday
Last night around 9:30pm, we're at 4th Mile Everise Supermarket. Suddenly
my dad received a phone call telling him that something happened to my
cousin, the son of my eldest uncle. We quickly rushed home and my parents
went to the hospital. All our relatives were there except my sis, my bro
and me. From what we heard was he commited suicide at One of the hotel
in Kuching. I thought that he's still alive and the doctors and nurses
were trying the best to save him.
When I woke up this morning, my mom told me that he's with Our Father
in Heaven. I thought that they failed to rescue him. In the afternoon,
it's our turn to help out at the funeral, it's placed at somewhere in
Green Road, I'm not so sure about the place's name, very hard to remember.
When we reached there, we approached the coffin to take a look at him.
I I felt that my eyes were wet, suddenly my right eye had more tears and
it was going to flows out, finally it's out but OH NO!!! It's not my tears,
it's my contact lense fallen out from my eye. My hand was dirty and there
were no mirror in the washroom, I quickly go to the nearest parked car
and used its side mirror. Luckily the lense didn't dry up, managed to
put it back into my eye. Really gave me a shocked, I thougth it's my tears
that going to roll down my cheek and turned out to be my own contact lense,
not even a single drop of tears.
People from the church came and we sang hymns and they recite the rosary.
I only knew how to sing, as for the rosary it's only for Roman Catholic
and I'm from Methodist church, so it's different. Tomorrow morning, they
will have funeral mass at St. Josept Cathedral at 10am and will be cremated
around 12pm. I'll not be going tomorrow, I'll stay home to prepare lunch
for my brother and sister.
After they left, I read the chinese newspapers and all with the reports
of my cousin's death. He's only 21 years old(one year my junior) and a
straight A's student since primary school. We were very close when we're
young. He even got a scholarship to study two years in Australia however
he teminated his studies last year after his father passed away. He's
supposed to have a bright future awaiting him. Who knows.... just one
year plus after his father left us, he left too, now left his mother and
sister. It's very sad but nothing much we could do. What's done is done.
He might had suffer too much stress and could not stand it anymore. No
one knows the actual cause.
From the newspapers reports, it even stated that around 2pm Friday afternoon,
he did try to jumped off from Hock Lee Building and was stopped by passer-by
and polices. Then Saturday evening around 6:20pm the hotel management
found his body lying at their premise. Guess his head got the hit first,
he suffered severe head injuries and broke his backbone. No one knows
whether he commited suicide or was murdered or merely an accident. No
matter what, we'll just let him rest in peace and be with God and may
God forgive his sin. Amen.
This is the 1st time I withnessed the christian way of funeral, peace
and quite and not chaotic. All these while it's the chinese way which
I hate so much, noisy, smoky, chaotic and troublesome. Our life is so
short, enjoy it while you can. May God bless everybody.
GIRLS
DAY OUT [
...
]-10.07.2004, Saturday
Woke up around 7:45am. Waited for Catherine to fetch me and Lillian to
breakfast around 8:45am. This is the 1st time the 3 of us hung out together.
we went to New Bao Bao Cafe somewhere near KMC flat. Having quite a hard
time to look for parking.
After that, we went to Green Rd. to sent something to Catherine's bf.
Then went to Informatics, I returned the book I had borrowed yesterday.
We're out of idea on where to go. Finally we decided to go to Parkson
since Lillian wanted to look for a bag. Basically we're window shopping.
We ended up buying nothing just comparing prices and will ask money from
parents or go there with our parents next time and ask them to buy hahahah...
we're not going to buy it with our money! No way! ehhehehe...
Frankly this is the 1st time I actually window shop like a girl hahhahaha...
coz usually I'll only looked tru' things very briefly without looking
at them in detailed and at the same time actually having girl talk ehehhehe...
usually me and Ann didn't have much girl talks and we seemed never hung
out at places like boutiques or shopping complexes. Except when in S'pore(that's
different story, even when we're there, we also didn't have much girl
talks but we talked about other stuffs, don't know why...), some how we're
more towards... geee... don't know how to explain, it's just not typical
stuffs that many girls do or maybe we seldom hung out like this together
and mostly with guys around. That's why.
Reached home around 12:10pm. I got my Visa goldcard(supplementary only)!
Where on earth can I own my own goldcard now hahahaah... I signed the
card and the signature is quite different from my usual ones coz the card
is too slippery, the pen slipped a little. Don't know whether will it
get tru' or not when I used it? Hmm... thinking of where to spend it hahahaah...
anyway I'm not that crazy to do these stuffs, I'll only use it when I
really need it, I'm not the kind that simply go around the city to swipe
the card. All those privileges/discounts/offers cannot be used in Kuching,
so unfair! All West M'sia.
WHAT'S
WRONG WITH TMNET ?!?!??! [
...
]-09.07.2004, Friday
I'm so pissed off!!!!! For two days I couldn't get any connection to the
net! I had paid my bill already! Two days!!!! Hey! Are you nutssss...
2 days... you know how much things I'd missed out due to this! For two
days I couldn't access my e-classroom, don't know the assignment is out
or not and so many notes!!! Wasting my time! Every month I'll encounter
this problem, this is the worst, 2 days, usually it's resolved within
24 hours! I'm in really foul mood now! How come everyone got access but
not me!
I called the customer support center and I got this computer generated
message, sounded something like this, "Dear valued customer, plz
be informed that you will be getting difficulty in accessing the Internet,
our technical team is looking into the matter and will restore the connection
as soon as possible." Crazy!!!! How do u know I'm experiencing logon
problem? I might call for other matters. Is this what you called customer
service??? By just using a pre-recoroded message to tell anyone who called
that
they will be having connection difficulty? I guess whoever call this number
1300881515 will all get the same message eventhough they need to inquire
about other matters even when there's no problem with the connection.
Trying and trying and finally got connection around 12:04pm. So happy!
Heheheeh... oh... by the way, this morning went to Informatics to borrow
a reference book, then went to buy laksa after that, take away. Finally
got the photo! Here you go! So hungry... FYI, the green stuffs there(gee...
I don't know what it called hahhah...), i usually don't eat it. I don't
like the smell but for some it's a must.
SECURE
LOVER [
...
]-06.07.2004, Tuesday
Took a test for fun, "Are you a secure lover?" This is my result:
Irene,
you tend to gravitate toward romantic partners who have a Secure attachment
style.
People with a secure attachment style are warm, open and trusting. They
are typically comfortable with themselves and show high regard for others.
Attachment style begins in infancy with the interactions we have with
our parents or primary caregivers. Through these early relationships we
begin to understand the dynamics and patterns of close relationships and
we carry this perspective into our adult relationships.
Psychologists call your attachment style Secure.
You tend to be an open and trusting romantic partner. You find it relatively
easy to get close to people, and are generally comfortable depending on
others.
People with a secure attachment style tend to be positive, optimistic,
and constructive in their interactions with others.
Hmmm... I guess I have to just agreed with this result. It sounded just
like me. Dear(you know who you are...eheeheh...)... do you agree with
this?

ICT EXPO 2004, COFFEEMASTER[
...
]-02.07.2004, Friday
Supposed to pick up Catherine at 8:30am for breakfast, but only manage
to get out of the bathroom at 8:30am .
Reached her house around 8:50am. Went to Tian Sia for breakfast, had not
stepped there for quite sometimes, the "taukay" even said to
me,"siau jie, hen jiu mei lai le"(Miss, haven't seen u for so
long). Ricky was there also. Yes.. really long, thought of taking the
picture of the laksa(to post it here to make Kevin drool, yummy... yummy...)
but forget all about it eventhough I brought my camera along. Sat there
and catched up with Catherine, for one hour plus, then off we went home.
Back at home, I onlined and she onlined too. Suddenly she said Eu Soon
wanted to go to the PC fair again to buy something, so we decided to go
at 2:30pm, the 3 of us. This time Catherine's driving. She came to pick
me up and waited for me at the wrong place, she misunderstood my description
ahahahha... then we went to fetch Eu Soon at Sungai Apong bus stop. He
wasn't there, he was late! Catherine called Eu Soon and it turned out
to be his father's number hahhaha... we had no other way to contact him
though his dad had given us his number. We tried to look for his house.
Failed. Went back to the bus stop again and he's there. Ahhaahah... he
thought it's not time yet.
We went to the fair and took quite a number of photos there. It's going
to be updated in my online album soon. Met lots of Informatics ex-students
and also other friends there, most of them worked there. Everywhere we
went, all familiar faces ahahahah... Liew Ying, Augustine(he told me that
Ann just left with Foong minutes before I'm there), Ricky(the 2nd time
in one day, how small Kuching is hahhaaha...), John and others quite a
lot of them... I thought I saw Allen... hmmm... aren't he supposed to
be in NZ studying? Since when he's back here? For hoilday? I saw him with
a girl, guess it's his gf(once he told me he has a gf in Kuching), haven't
met him for ages. Not sure it's him or not, but from my observation 99%
it's him...
I tried to call out his name, but no respond, hahahah... coz we're at
the place where the speakers were, so I guess he didn't hear me calling
him.
The World Championship Game 2004 section was somewhere outside the air-con
exhibition hall. My goodness... it's so hot there ,
there're lots of PCs there and ppl gaming there just to win air ticket
to KL(guess it's two way air ticket). I hope the PCs there will not overheat
hahhaha... it's really very hot. Oh well... it claimed to be the biggest
fair ever held here in Kuching but it seemed very small, very disappointing
and nothing new to see and the stalls weren't properly segmented, you
couldn't figure out which section you're in until you walked there and
see things were different, a bit confusing not visitor-friendly. However
found lots of cute mouses aahahah... too bad I forgot to take a snap of
them. Ended up with lots of brochures, so many could even compiled into
a book hahahaha...
After that, we couldn't make up our mind where to have a drink. Then they
suggested Coffeemaster at Somerset Gateway, 4th floor. I was quite blurred
at 1st, heard of it before but didn't know the actual location. I just
followed them hahhahah... I was quite surprised, it's actually in Somersat
Gateway, one of or the only hotel-serviced apartment in Kuching, very
expensive apartment. Situated near Upwell and next to IBMS. I was expecting
the stuffs there would be quite expensive. It turned out that, it's so
much cheaper than Coffee Bean. The interior is simple and I like it. Must
take note of something, if you wanted to go to the toilet, u have to ask
the toilet key from the counter, pretty funny...
(from left to right) I ordered iced chocolate. It tasted like milo ice.
Quite disappointing.
Catherine ordered ice honey lime(see the photo? It's weird how nice the
effect turned out, very surprising! Don't know how it ended up like this)
and cheese sandwich. The cheese sandwich is all right, not bad though
it tasted ordinary.
Eu Soon ordered ice blended chocolate.
Next to the sandwich, it's the sugar and creamer you could find there.
Took this pic while waiting for our drinks.
I couldn't recall the prices of most of them. So no price included, only
remember the total, RM16.10, considered quite affordable and worth the
money spent. I like the atmosphere. Oh.. thanks to Catherine and Eu Soon
for their co-operations, eheheh... so sporting to allow me to take all
these pics and even reminded me to take the pic of the sandwich hahahah...

We chatted for so long more than one hour, it's almost 5:30pm, decided
to go home. There goes my whole afternoon that I'm supposed to use it
to do my revision. Nvm... once in a blue moon.
1ST
JULY [
...
]-01.07.2004, Thursday
WOW... June is over, July is here, one month to go to exam month! Why
so fast???? The older u're getting the faster the time goes... It felt
like yesterday was the beginning of 2004 and now 2004 is going to end
in a few months time. "Getting old already" ahhahh... this is
what I heard nowadays from friends, when meeting them, u'll definitely
get to hear this statement somewhere in the middle of conversation. ahahahah...
really getting old...
KCBA IT Fair starting today. It claimed to be the largest IT fair ever
held in Kuching. Ask Lee to go and he actually told me that someone invited
him earlier on . So... I'll
just stay home do my revisions and watch TV. It's from 1st-4th July at
Bukit Mata Parking Building, 5th floor. Maybe I'll go tomorrow, or Saturday
or Sunday or not going at all. Depends on my mood.
Caught Catherine onlined, ahhhah... chat for a while and made an appointment
with her to go to breakfast tomorrow morning at Tian Sia Cafe, 3rd mile.
I'll pick her up after 8:30am. Had not been there for ages and miss the
laksa there heheheh...
