HAPPY 2004 EVE! -31.12.03,Wednesday- ...
Nothing much happen today. Spent my time designing next year webpage and if everything goes well it'll be up by 1/1 or 2/1.

Went to the clinic for my backache, it actually got better yesterday but because of my sensitive nose, the dust(my dad drilled the cupboard to fixed the cupboard doors) and cigarette smoke from somebody downstair smoking gave a very hard time and I sneezed non-stop and this put pressure to my back and making it worst until it felt like when u accidentally twisted or sprained ur ankle or shoulder. Sigh... so painful. having difficulty walking , sitting and standing up. I got medicine for preventing me from sneezing, cough and pain killer because the sneezing and cough will make it even worst. Hope that it'll go away soon...

In the evening Lee and me made a last minute decision to watch ghost movie, "Wishing Stairs". This is scarier than "The Tale of Two Sisters". This is really a ghost story about some high school girls that wanted to get what they want very badly and make a wish a the wishing stairs and the result will be sacrificing the life of their friends. It's not that scary at the beginning, only towards the end, it's getting more and more frightening. I didn't watch much when it came to the scary scene, so I'm not frightened by it. hahahhah... (so... what's the point of watching ghost movie when you didn't watch scary part? I don't know ;p) His sis spent most of the time hiding behind her bag, dare not to watch it, so cute...

After the movie, 8:15pm, we met his sis' friends and then went to 4th mile for steamboat. It took us one hour to get there because of traffic jam at the Golden Triangle, we should have taken the other route if we knew it. The place changes a lot, there used to be people BBQ for u but now it makes no different dining there and Hornbill. We had a very oily dinner. Plan to stay there until 12am for countdown but we decided to go home earlier coz we're quite tired, eating too much and very sleepy. We went home at 11pm.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! -25.12.03,Thursday- ...
Wake up in the morning and my mobile phone "ding dong" non-stop, so many sms greetings coming in and of course I forward them to other friends too and in return they sms me also and there goes the phone, "ding dong" the whole morning. It's a rainy Christmas morning and afternoon. Sometime around evening, finally the rain stopped. I stayed home all day(watch TV, design next year's webpage, prepare next year subject's notes) and only went out for CNY clothing shopping at night but nothing to buy... so bored...

CHRISTMAS EVE -24.12.03,Wednesday- ... this is the 100th comment!!!!
Had dinner with my family at Roy Roger's, then go for last minute christmas presents shopping. Back home, wrap up the gifts and wait till Friday just for Ann and Lee. Oh well.. by that time christmas might be over for some people but for some it's 12 days :-)

NEW PHOTOS UPLOADED-23.12.03,Tuesday- ...
Two photos uploaded in my online album (MISC2003). They're very funny, it seemed like there's something interesting to see and everyone couldn't wait to see it..

BACK TO KUCHING -21.12.03,Sunday- ...
Home at last! The trip is ok, not that fun coz it kept on raning and raining.
1st day 18/12- Check-in the hote lat Tanjong Pagar, Sembawang (my cousin's house), Orchard Rd.(window shopping)
2nd day 19/12- Orchard Rd.(lunch and window shopping), Suntec(window shopping), Marine Parade(found the chocolate I want), East Coast(BBQ but have to cancel last minute due to heavy rain) this is the worst day ever, we just hire a taxi and send us directly to the hotel, cannot walk anymore, so exhausted and we went to bed very early, before 10pm.
3rd day 20/11- Pasir Ris (Escape Theme Park, it's a very small theme park, I think I am a bit too old for all those stuffs already, really scary eventhough it's not that extreme compare to those in big theme parks, we played most of them and screamed as much as we could, only those for children we didn't play and the one that turn 360 degree when it goes to the top, Go-kart is fun but that nasty little boy kept on hitting me from the side and the back, I was in a rather fast speed and he hit me, it was really scary, it felt like i'm going to fly off the track, at 1st I'm in the 1st place and at the end I finihsed last, that boy really have no manners at all!), Boat Quey ( we had dinner there, nice scenery they have there but too bad heavy rain)
4th day 21/12- Changi Airport...(I was looking for a payphone that used coins after going into the departure hall to call Qing Wei but couldn't find any, all of them used card, so I asked one of the girl working there and she told me that it's free for local call, man... so stupid, ehehehehe... it's free! I quickly go to the nearest phone and call Qing Wei but cannot chat long, I've spent to much time searching for a phone and manage to chat for a while only coz had to prepare to board the plane)

No photos were taken during the trip, no camera.

I didn't do much shopping, window shopping only, don't know what to buy, nothing to buy, I only bought some chocolates. Spend most money on transport and food.

Didn't manage to meet any friends there, all of them had to work. Managed to chat on the phone with Qing Wei. As for Kevin... nothing from him... a bit disappointing. Really hope that can meet Kevin and I might not need to worry much about my backache. I had a terrible backache on departure to S'pore, I don't know why, and it's really uncomfortable, having some problem with lifting my luggage, luckily my cousin met us at the airport and he helped me to carry it. I couldn't carry heavy things and having problem bending. Suffering the whole trip. At least it's not that bad now but it's very uncomfortable when I sneeze, very painful.

OFF TO S'PORE -18.12.03,Thursday- ... ...
Off I go now... bye! Be back on 21/12!

OH NO... -17.12.03,Wednesday- ... ...
HCI paper is not similar as the specimen paper that was given. We're the 1st batch to sit for this paper with the new format, it's totally different from the sample paper our lecuturer gave to us. Nothing similar, didn't expect it to be so hard, I simply dumped everything in, really don't know what to write. Especially Q2, I'm stuck there, the last 15 minutes, I just simply write something in. Guess... this term exams really giving me a very hard time.

IT'S NOT THAT GOOD... -11.12.03,Thursday- ... ...
Centrino is not that good after all... I still prefer Pentium4. Even my home PC Pentium3 preformance is better than Centrino... sigh... When I opened up an application, it lagged a bit. Sometimes when you open more than one applications at once it'll lag even longer. The previous laptop was Pentium4 2.4Ghz, the performance really makes a difference. Centrino does make a difference but it's not a positive one's. Nothing can be done, already bought it. Word of advice, don't buy Centrino, buy Pentium4-M, it's so much better...

NEC VERSA E680 -10.12.03,Wednesday- ...
My laptop is here! Hunting high and low for months... I ended up buying NEC. However, it's not very impressive compare to Toshiba. Toshiba LCD screen can be viewed from any angle without any problem but NEC's cannot, must view from directly in front, sigh... only two brands of laptop have this technology, Toshiba & Sony, no wonder they're so expensive. Nothing much to boost about the specifications. It's Centrino 1.4Ghz, 4-in-1 card reader, built-in wireless connectivity, combo drive. It's much cheaper to the previous Toshiba one's. There are two colour to choose from, piano white and black-silver, piano white is nice but it'll get dirty faster and it'll be yellowish sooner or later.

ONE DOWN, ONE MORE TO GO -08.12.03,Monday- ...
Finally, it's the day! IT350 Distributed Network exam. My goodness... I'm sure everyone who is sitting for this exam having a very hard time with the paper. I even heard a girl talking to herself in the exam, "liau liau lar..."

For me, Q1 is hell! I couldn't even manage to complete anyone of them not because of not enough time but didn't know how to do. 5 sub-questions in there and none of them I could complete. I've estimated that for Q1, I might got <10/40. I did Q2 and Q5 for optional questions. Q3 and Q4 didn't know what they're talking about, ALIENS!!!! Sigh... Even in Q2 and Q5, it's bad enough too but at least can get 15/30, if lucky enough. In the last 15 minutes, I just simply dumped everything in to fill in the blanks of Q1. I wrote everything that I've memorized about that topic but it's not the answer, just want to fill in the blanks rather than letting my 1st answer booklet be so blank. I used 2 booklets, 1st one was all for Q1. I hope my assignment will help me pass this subject, Even if I got 30/100 for this paper, with the asssignment's mark help, I still can pass with at least a D. Hopefully the coming paper, Human-Computer Interaction is not that hard.

REVIEW DRIVING LICENCE LAWS, DRIVERS WHO WANT TO DRIVE BIGGER CARS MUST RESIT DRIVING TEST, SAYS MINISTER -04.12.03,Thursday- ...
WHAT!???!?!?! Are you nutsssssss! Theres one report in in the newspaper on this matter and the proposal to review this matter is the craziest and unlogical thing ever propesed by the minister!

It saids that when people sit for driving test, Kancil is used because it's easier to manoeuvre and drive and after the test, 90 percent of the driver will not be driving a Kancil but a bigger or more powerful car. This is true, you can't change this fact. Not everyone owns a Kancil and not everyone will purposely buy a Kancil to drive just because you used Kancil when u're learning how to drive. (Of course there are cases like this but for majority it's not like this) Everyone will drive whatever they have at home. Some more, many people like to change car every now and then, today you see them drive a car, tomorrow they'll be driving SUV, not long after that they might be changing to truck so on and so forth. You don't expect people to drive the same car thier whole life.

Take me and my friends and my relatives and also many people out there for example, no one would be driving the same size car their whole life, many people have at least two cars or more at home, and they are of different sizes and different power. We might drive a car like Honda or Toyota and so on today and tomorrow we might prefer a bigger vehicle a SUV maybe, sometimes might prefer a smaller car like Kancil (deoends on our mood and also the purpose), you can drive all these using one D class driving licence. If you're asking people to resit for driving test just because of they're driving different type of cars everyday or just to buy a bigger car to replace the smaller car. This is so infeasible, a waste of time and money. It'll be like each time you buy a new car you have to go tru' the whole process of sitting for exam even you've been driving for yearsssssssssss... this is so stupid.

It's is believe that by doing this it will reduce road accidents. Crazy! What kind of reason is that? Road accidents have no connection with type of car u're driving. It's all depends on you skills and experience and also your attitude when u're driving. Most accident happened because of the driver's attitude, and some might be due to malfunctions in the car. It doesn't mean that you learn to drive a Kancil and when you got your licence you must drive a Kancil because you were not trained to drive a bigger car and you cannot control it. It's not the car that controls you, it's you're the one who should be controlling the car, who is that stupid to let a machine controls you. I was trained with a Kancil and after I got my licence I switched to drive a Pajero, what's wrong with that? No problem with me. It's been years already and it's as easy as "ABC".

One more thing is that, all those learning schools use Kancil or Kelisa(smaller then Kancil). Only a few offers cars like Wira. No one offers Pajero or Prado or Ranger or sport cars. Then how are we going to have the chance to drive other bigger and poweful cars? It's all depends on our skills and experience. All they taught are the basic of driving and road safety, you have to learn others on ur own and of course your manners on the road. If really the law is imposed, I guess Perodua will be very happy coz their cars will be selling like hot cakes and other companies will go bankrupt! Not much market for bigger cars and our automibile industries will be doomed! One thing for sure, this is the stupidest law ever inforce.

FINALLY THEY'RE BACK! GOT A NEW CAMERA!!! -01.12.03,Monday- ...
Finally they're back from S'pore. Bought a digital camera.... yahoo!!!! It's Canon Digital IXUSi, 4 Megapixel, silver colour, it's the latest range of digital camera from Canon. It uses SD-Memory card, it's physical size so small... the camera is only as big as my palm. I'm not sure about Kuching's price, my parents bought it cash and carry they don't accept credit card, S$605 (plus GST), I think Kuching is more expensive. Therefore, my dad sort of "forced" them to give a free gift, a tripod stand. Two bad sides are the camera does not comes with the pouch, have to buy it seperately and when you xoom-in the display is blur on the LCD screen but after taking the picture it's so clear. The picture quality is so good! It's so sharp, can even enlarge it until my skin pores can be seen so clearly... (arg.... so many blackheads!!!!)quite satisfied with it. There is no limit on video recording, you can record a video as long that your memory card still have space.

Actually me and my sis asked my dad to look out for S50. They found it on the 1st day, they almost bought it(S$600 almost half cheaper than Kuching's price) but according to many shops, the flash card will be phased out next year not only that this model is going to be phased out soon next year too (these applies to S'pore not sure about Kuching). Just to hunt for digital camera and the best offer, they go back and forth from one shop to another in Orchard Road for days and finally bought one on the fourth day.
