First
of all, before you proceed please take note that this article is written
by a non-smoker and an anti-smoking supporter. Therefore everything
in this article are based on our (non-smokers and anti-smoking supporters)
thoughts. If you are a smoker, I hope that after you read this article
you will be more considerate (I do not mean that all smokers are inconsiderate,
there are many considerate smokers out there and for these smokers,
"Thank You!") or the best thing to do is to quit smoking.
Did you know that whether someone is able to quit smoking or unable
to quit related to their gene? If you are a smoker and you can quit
easily without picking it up again and have no craving for it at all
in whatever situation, then you are very lucky because there is not
much people like you. For those that found that it is hard for them
to quit no matter what, then these are very unlucky people and should
not have pick up this habit at the begining. I had read it in an article
but I couldn't recall from where. It mentioned that we have a gene
that related to smoking, if you have that gene in you, after the first
puff, the substance will trigger the "activation" of that
gene and you will have difficulty in quitting.
Oh,
another thing is that, with every cigarette you puff (no matter what
type), you'll shorten your life 14 or 17 minutes, couldn't really
recall. So imagine how many minutes, or hours, or days, or weeks,
or months, or years have you shorten your life?
Another thing that I notice is that, after smoker smokes, they tend
to chew on chewing gums or eat sweets to freshen their breath, frankly,
it makes it worst because they does not blend well. Besides that,
mouth wash doesn't help much too especially when you do it just right
after you smoke. Maybe it's better when the smell is not that strong
anymore and you use mouth wash, you will have better chances to get
rid of it. However, you still have the smoke particles sticking to
your clothing or body or hair that will cause allergy reaction to
some people when they come near you.
Below are some impression that smokers give to non-smokers/anti-smoking
supporters in general:
"This person is inconsiderate."
"This person is so uncool."
"This person seems desprete."
"This person is responsible for pollution."
"This person smells, ewwwwww..."
"Aaa...choooooo!!!"
so on and so forth...
Below are impressions based on certain situations:
You smoke due to stress - "You are
not a good stress handler."
You smoke due to peer pressure - "You
are easily influence. You have no self-dicipline though you know it's
bad for you."
You smoke to look cool - "Oh please...
you looks like someone that is very desperate and pathetic and it
doesn't look polite or good/beautiful/pretty/handsome at all, summore,
it's so uncool. Didn't you know that your mouth looks ugly when you
smoke? It causes wrinkles and stained your teeth too."
You smoke to impress - "You are
stupid! You smell awful and with this how do you want to impress someone?
With your body odour people will turn you off. Besides your breath
is disgusting."
You can quit whenever you want - "B***
s***!!! This is what I heard from many smoker, quit means you wouldn't
get back to it again no matter what happen until the day you die,
but these people will pick up the habit again when they are desperate
or stress or when socializing."
You only smoke for a little pleasure and is
not the same as those heavy smoker - "Just accept the
fact that you are still a smoker, it doesn't make you a non-smoker.
You are still putting your life and others' in danger. You're in denial!"
You smoke to loss weight - "Hah...
since when? You seems no different at all. You looked worst than ever
(bad skin conditions and extra wrinkles). Even if you do loss weight,
you won't be healthy, so there is no use at all."
You do not smoke in public - "This
is good for others but not for you, since you inhale from the cigarette
and u puff it out, the smoke will circulate around you and you breath
it in again, what do you think? It's very bad huh, it will jeopardize
your health much faster."
You can't quit - "This is the major
problem, at least you admit it. You regret? Try to find help."
There are so much more. Ask yourself if you're a smoker what kind
of excuses that you will give.
Last but not least, smoking is bad for health, love yourself and others,
