JUNCTION CAFE [ ] - 7.8.2006 Monday

Went to Junction Cafe for a drink on Saturday night after the food fair. Too many people at the fair so we left early to find a place to have a drink. It's not planned, we didn't know where to go. Then I remembered that there's a new cafe opened near MAS office, we went there to try out. Previously the shop was Max Collection, they closed down already and replaced by this new cafe.

The interior is brightly lit. The tables and chair were white, very minimal decor. We sat down and was given the menu... the menu is looooong...imagine four A4's placed next to each other, that's how long it is. There were so much choices for the food and drinks.

Where can you get ice blended coffee for less than RM3? Where can you get smoothies and chocloate drinks below RM4? The answer is Junction Cafe! Yes... the food is pretty affordable too. I saw the steaks were less than RM30. You must be thinking, the drinks must be sub-standard blah blah... NO! You are wrong!

I ordered Orange Delight the drink on the right, RM3.00, it's so thick and yummy! It's chocolate drink with orange flavour. It tasted like eating chocolate with orange cream filling. They even have green tea, strawberry and many more flavours for it. Cool! Jimmy ordered Ice Blended White Coffee, on the right, RM2.50, it looked so thick too!

My mouth was a bit itchy, so I ordered Onion Rings, RM4. Should just ordered salad, something less oily since Kuching is attack by haze and hot spell. We waited until our drinks almost finished but it's not served yet. So we asked the waiter. Not long after that, it came. They kept apologizing and gave us two glasses of ice water as a token of apology. We noticed that there were two groups of people waiting for their food too and they were there much earlier than us. Their drinks were almost finished too. WOW... they really waited for so long. They ordered the steaks. You can see, I waited until I'm bored, and took this picture LOL... (no makeup :P only lip balm ehehhe...)

After a few rings, I'm full. The onion rings were those you can buy in supermarket. It came with tartar sauce. So I asked them to packed it for me to take away. When the waiter came, he kept on apologizing again about the delay just now. He packed it and gave a big bag of tartar sauce... LOL.. it's big!! A lot!!! More than what you see in the saucer. Then apologized again. I paid the money and he gave the change back and apologized again!!! Overkill!!!

The steaks looked yummy. Will try it next time when I have plenty of time to spare and not having empty stomach :P Very affordable. I recommended it but only when u have much time to spare. The drinks weren't bad :) Do try their drinks. I think it's really worth it. By the way, they have special offer everyday for their drink. Last Saturday was 100% pure banana juice for only RM2.

They gave us the bill and I noticed that it's under WECARE bakery. The receipt used was the one used at the branch at Travilion. I'm not sure the bakery at 3rd mile is still there or not as well as Travilion's.

Again... VERY AFFORDABLE!!!
