Get ready for the exotic food adventure!!! I hope you don't puke on your computer.
Introducing to you... SNAILS... HMMM... Actually, I'm not very sure what it's called. It's a type of creature that is snail liked. Could be a type of snails. I'm not sure where they catch these from? I think swamp or riverbank... Maybe... Not sure.

In Hokkien dialect, we called it "chut chut" as in "suck suck" because you have to suck the flesh out from the shell. Usually it's the big type with black shells that people cooked with curry or other ways of cooking, I'm not so sure, I only ate curry ones before. My father told me that last time they took the flesh out with hairclips, you know the black hairclips? Hmm.. What it's called? Bobby pins? Out of sudden I can't remember what it's called.

My dad bought a bottle of "chut chut" months ago from Sunday Market. It's RM5 for a small bottle. It looked yucky... Ewww... However, I still tried it out. It's so the very salty!!! As if I'm eating a whole lump of salt. It's too salty and it's not spicy, too much salt not enough chili. I'm not sure it's cooked or not, I think they did boil it before preserving it.
It's very hard to eat. The shell is too soft, you just hold it and try to suck it, it will break, very fragile. At the end, the flesh and the shell ended up in your mouth. So, you have to use a toothpicks to prick the flesh out but the shell will break too if you are not careful. Must handle it very very gently.
You dare to eat? I think Asians is fine with this. How about non-asians? |
