PINOY GRILL CAFE [ ] - 23.10.2006 Monday
This is the latest food establishment in Padungan Kuching. Just one shop next to Padungan Police Station. Very easy to locate. Went there last night.

They serve Philippinoes cuisines. I think this is the first Filipino cafe in Kuching. Not air-conditioned but not hot. It stated grill cafe on the signboard but you can't see the grill. Gosh... They really have good business, patrons pouring in non-stop even after 10pm and ordered full meals summore.

We saw many Filipino there. The atmostphere was really GOOD!!! It's so noisy that you have to shout to talk. Seriously, it's really GOOD! Not the opposite meaning but it's REALLY GOOD! Though it's noisy. Everyone looks happy there.

At first we ordered their special ice dessert called "halo halo"-RM3(if not mistaken or "hola hola") and "special"-RM4, the business was so good that they were out of stock! The owner told us that fresh fruits were used and not using syrup for the sweetness. We were assured that the ingredients are freshly prepared rather than refrigerated and it's a hit among the patrons. Too bad we couldn't try.

Left: Some stuffs on the table. They have table runner on every table.
Middle: Tea Iced (RM1.30), just our normal Teh C Peng.
Right: Green tea (RM1.60), tin ones.
The owner did introduce us one of their beer with very low alcohol level, lower than the usual Tiger/Carlsberge or whatever. Very low and it's good to eat with their Filipino fried snacks. Since we don't drink and not cheap too ok... Remember my money is running low...

We waited for our friends for about almost 1 hour and finally they reached. They ordered some food. I'm so worry... Becuase it meant that we will have to split cost to pay, summore not cheap, well middle range I should say but with my situation... -_-" LOL... At the end, the birthday boy paid for everything. Damn.. I'm so stingy hahaah...

Left: Grilled Half Chicken, I don't know the price. The butter smell was quite obvious and served with their special sauce. The chicken meat was very tender and not over grilled. Not so bad. :)
Right: Fried Spring Roll, this was recommended by one of the person in charge there and if I didn't listen wrongly, she said that it's on the house because almost everything we ordered on the first attempt(ice desserts and fries) were out of stock!!! I didn't eat this, so not sure how's the taste.

Left: The sandwich, not sure about the price too.
Right: The name card. It's "Ihaw Ihaw or Thaw Thaw"? LOL...

Worth a try :) The owners and the staffs are very friendly. One thing I don't like is that it's smoker friendly place, people are puffing away like chimneys.
