Malaysians Can Withdraw Paypal Now! – Debit Card Version (1)

September 29th, 2007 · 90 Surrendered

Notice something in Paypal? This is a good news to all of us! We do not need Accent card, VMI card, E-trade or whatever anymore! You just need to use your credit card or debit card with MasterCard or Visa logo to withdraw your money!

Cool… They charge USD5 per transaction. At least it’s safer and under your control unlike those cards which I don’t really trust them untill now as I heard of many stories about account being suspended and all those torublesome processes that you have to go tru’ to re-activate your account though they got their accounts back still I hate going tru’ the whole process in case I’m that unlucky. This explains why I don’t apply for any untill now. Besides, I have ways to get my money from my Paypal without withdrawing it(top secret :P cannot tell you how hehehe…), also I don’t have that much fund in there so no point to withdraw also.

See the screeshoots below…

When you click on “Transfer funds to your card”, you will be redirected to a page called “Withdraw Funds to your Card”. Withdrawals to your card must meet the minimum withdrawal amount which is USD10 (depends on the currency). If you are withdrawing to a prepaid card, the amount that you can withdraw might differ from your PayPal account withdrawal limit.

We tested it with Jimmy’s(for Chinese version) Alrajhi Bank debit card that he got from applying for their current account. For the time being, we will test with debit card, when this transaction is completed and make sure that we got our money, we will test it with credit card.

Since it’s first time withdrawal, card details need to be added. Debit Cards, Check Card, ATM Cards or Banking Cards are accepted as long that they have a Visa or MasterCard Logo.

Key in the value after you successfully added the card.

Then you will see the summary before you confirm the transaction.

It will take 5-7 business days. We will see how by then… By the way, you can only withdraw USD500 per day. I don’t have this amount of money per day hahaha… If I have… WOW! I’ll be a millionaire soon! :P

Remember! Credit card version coming up! Hehehe…

You can also read about it at Paypal: Malaysians Can Withdraw Funds From Paypal Now! (Part 1), in fact I published it in Money Money Come before this blog :P

Now at least I can buy something I like in Seberkas :P

  • 2 sweet surrender // Sep 29, 2007 at 3:07 pm

cdason, hahaha… yeap… However, you also have to calculate carefully, as per transaction is USD5, so imagine you withdraw once a month(USD5×12) for a year, if your amount is big, it’s OK, quite worth it, if amount to withdraw is little, it’s a bit wasted.

Lol.. I think it shouldn’t really be a problem as funding from PP to your credit/debit card. The balance will show up basically 3-4 working days (well that’s what happened to me :P ) I tried using MOL and it works like a charm… But please be aware that Paypal will be very strict on this and probably might call you up to verify certain information. happened to a friend of mine whereby he uses his sister name, and to cut the long story short.. His account got suspended. For those who have not been able to withdraw, this is a good start.. Probably if you can accumulate prolly 500, and withdraw one time to ur debit card it would be worth it :P

  • 15 sweet surrender // Sep 30, 2007 at 10:29 am

It’s not a big deal that PP will call up to verify, it’s good actually, this means they are doing their job to make sure your account is not hacked. Also, better to use your own card instead of using other’s. MOL can work? That’s good, the other card from AmBank can’t work hahaha… It’s best to withdraw if you have a big sum of money else it’s kinda wasted and not worth it.

  • 50 Sunny Tung // Oct 5, 2007 at 4:13 pm

In my opinion being given the ability to withdraw money from Paypal with a Debit card is heaven sent. And of course if you only have USD$5 in Paypal and insist to withdraw – you’re literally giving charity to Paypal. LOL. (might as well transfer it to me…i’ll even spend you few teh tariks).

Hint: you may want to combine amount with your friends who has Paypal to reduce withdrawal costs.

Anyway the USD$5 fee is quite reasonable. If you have cashed in USD cheques before, it takes about a month or more to get your hands on the cash. Though bank fees (for some banks) may be lower, it’s definately worth it….nothing beats seeing for real, the extra 0’s in your bank account compared to 0’s on chq paper. Quicker and with less hassle.

With truckloads of opportunity to earn tons of cash via the Internet medium, and being able to finally ‘touch’ the cash (at least with Paypal), life is certainly getting better each passing minute.

BTW, you can even start earning money now with Paypal, when you share this insightful report on “Why most Internet Marketers fail in their business” http://www.SunnyTung.com/e-myth.html

PayPal has send out its newsletter to all its member regarding its new withdrawal feature. With this new withdrawal feature, us Malaysian and 26 other countries will be very happy. We have been waiting for this for a long time. This new withdrawal method allows us to withdraw fund to our debit or credit card. I’m not sure if it is only limited to Visa branded debit card or credit card but there seems people who have tried it with Mastercard debit card and they failed. [...] So what did I do after trusting such news?  I simply accumulated my PayPal money till it reached a certain amount, so that I could save on the USD5 service charge (I do tend to get really accumulative when it comes to hard earned money).   So, now I have an acceptable amount of money (not as much as Irene or Jimmy), and want to use it to cover the cost of a perfume I just recently bought.  I logged on into my PayPal account, and proceeded to the withdraw button *smiling all the way*.  Its just like pay day.. you get money for a months work.. Boy was I excited.  After all, this is my first online-income payment!! [...]

  • 65 Shankar // Dec 12, 2007 at 6:36 pm

I just opened a savings-i account with Al Radjhi today. Received my Visa debit card on the spot. So the moment i got home, i fired up paypal and added a new card… it was successful. Then i made this card my primary. But when i wanted to “Get Verified”, meaning that will make PayPal charge me $1.95 USD, it FAILED!

I called the Helpline at the back of my card: 1300 82 6000. They say that they are aware of the matter and working on it. Asked when will the resolve it… “We dont know exactly when”.

    So does this confirms:

    1) You can withdraw to Al Rajhi Visa from PayPal
    2) Can make payments with PayPal to other vendors.. but
    3) Just cant verify your card with PayPal

Can anyone confirm all of this please…

  • 66 sweet surrender // Dec 12, 2007 at 7:55 pm

Hi Shankar, I’m not sure whether can be used to verify or not, logically should be able to. So far, I know that many of us don’t make it as our primary card. I also heard that you can’t use this card to buy things online. Most of us only use it for withdrawal.

Better get Al Rajhi, citibank, PB debit cards. It would be best if you have Al Rajhi Visa debit cards and no fee will be billed.

jcng08, to get unban from paypal, just ask him to contact paypal for help. He will be required to fill in some forms and fax to them.

I’m not sure the ATM card can be used or not, if it can be used just like debit card then it should be fine but the best card to us is from Al Rajhi, never got problem at all.
