Big Apple Tea Break

April 16th, 2008 · 12 Surrendered

I’m very stress, I’m very busy, I’m very piss! The thing is not hard but when you people come and interrupt the process halfway, we have to redo the whole thing from scratch! DAMN IT! Made up your mind, confirmed everything before asking for changes! SUCKS! You expect a 3-4 days job to be completed in 24 hours!?!? That’s insane!

At the end… I went too… Hahaha… Actually went there on Tuesday afternoon to meet M, can’t think of where to go and since haven’t been to Big Apple, it’s office hour summore, so decided to go there and buy some home at the same time. Thought that there won’t be many people but the queue was long! Queued up for more than 30 minutes for 12 donuts(6 to eat there, 6 to bring home).

While waiting… the open concept kitchen. See all the sauces? So colourful hahaha…

More of the kitchen view.

Donuts waiting to be eaten…

More… Here’s the box that fit the 6 donuts.

Left: This is for home, RM12 for 6 pcs.
Right: This is for eating on the spot, RM12 for 6 pcs. There were 6 of us, so each of us only pay RM2 for 6 donuts. You know how we ate? Hehehe… One donut splited into 6 😛 That’s how you enjoy and taste food with your friends ok??!? We didn’t wash our hands summore hahaha… Summore first time meet hahaha… It’s like sharing our germs *LOL* The six of us were M, Jimmy, Allen, Robin and Eric(not a blogger). We didn’t order any drink. Thought that the donut will be very sweet but it’s not, PinkCotton, you are right! Hahaha…

12 pcs per box is RM22, 2 boxes with 6 pcs each is RM24, each donut is RM2.30. There are 23 types:
Pink Panther, Duren Duren, Chocoring, Rolling Stone, Kiwi Blitz, Semi Glacier, Say Cheese, Go Nutz, Kimochi, Green Teaser, Chocoholic, Iceberg, Whitnut, Snowy, 101 Dalmation, Choreo, Spicy Flossy, Mango Tango, Glacier, Californian Almond, Moonraker, Chococinno and The Alien.

I’m so lazy to tell you which I had tried, you go figure out yourself. Very busy sigh… I need a break 🙁

According to our friend, guess what? We were told that the donuts here are smaller than KL’s! 30 cents more expensive than KL which I’m not surprise but smaller than KL, that’s so wrong! You already increase the price, you don’t have to reduce the size! ARG! What to do? Kuching people are damn rich, can afford to spend on expensive stuffs.

Left: Most people didn’t eat their donut on the spot, they take-away. Here’s the place for you to eat and you can see the them making donut from the clear glass hahaha… We kept taking photos of them and observing how they did it.
Right: Present to you, M! Hehehe… Taken at Starbucks. You have any idea who she is? Hehehe… She’s the belly dance girl during Kuching Entertainers’ Night.

By the way, there’s another report for the bloggers’ meet last Saturday but I’m still waiting for photos to be sent to me. Sigh… Others already got theirs, I haven’t get mine. I have several posts lining up as well… No time to edit the photos also.

Irene, One thing i must say about kuching. The lifestyle is like lower compared to KL but i don’t understand why in some food are more expensive here.

Example: The donuts you mentioned.(Why is it 30 cent more expensive? C`mon la…Kuching is a small city…KL people richer la)

1)Roti canai – Some even sold rm 1.40 in kuching! It’s only flour only! Almost every mamak stalls in KL sell for RM 1.00

2)Teh Tarik – I can even find teh tarik for Rm 1.70 in kuching! In KL, It’s Rm 1.00 too!

We have a very weird market in kuching!

In KL, salary is about 50% more than kuching even if you work as a salesman.

jeo, indeed, that’s why… We can never understand why. As for the donut thing hahaha… They will tell you they have to fly the things over blah blah blah… I don’t mind if they increase the price(since all those franchise are doing so, we can’t do anything about it except Sushi King that is kind enough to maintain the same price throughout Malaysia for the kaiten sushi) but please don’t reduce the portion 🙁

Pinkcotton, is it? Hehehe… I never heard anyone complain about it, if u are referring to the set or ala-carte maybe hahaha… Not sure but the kaiten is as it is except it crumbled easily hehehe… Most people would go for the kaiten instead of the set.

    Hello Heidi.

M, *LOL* in fact I’m quite sick of it too already 😛 Those I bought home, I had to help finish them. The taste still stay in my throat *LOL* Don’t think will eat again any sooner unless people treat me *LOL*

  • 10 Patrick // Apr 19, 2008 at 8:26 pm

Indeed.. Prices in Kuching are expansive. All things are more expansive. But the thing is.. Everyone still buy it!
At soem very point, I can’t figure out where Kuching people get all their money. Working in Kuching, the pay.. you know I know.. But how can those people drive big car, love big house? I work out here I hardly survive!

And another question I have.. Do you have a full time job? Apart from blogging and ebaying?

  • 11 Patrick // Apr 19, 2008 at 8:27 pm

Oh.. BTW, the belly dancer looks cute! 😛

  • 12 sweet surrender // Apr 19, 2008 at 8:39 pm

Patrick, *LOL* My full-time job? I’m a web developer but now it’s more like part time than full time, blogging gives me more money than my job *LOL* When I have project, then web developing is my full-time job, when no project, blogging is my full-time job 😛 She’s cute hoh 😛 Hehehe…

Surrender Here!
