Today is 20082008, someone’s birthday today hahaha…
Patrick came back to Kuching for a short stay before heading back to UK. Since he’s leaving on Thursday, we met up with him last night at Jambu after several changes of time :P. I went there with Allen. It’s my first time go to Jambu. It’s a really nice place albeit a bit spooky hehehe…

The place is too dark to take any nice photo especially the signboard, summore it’s located quite far away from the entrance. Located at Crookshank Road, just road side before you reach Civic Centre. We sat at the back which is outdoor, you can see the settees with very colourful cushions.

Left: Just outside the washroom.
Right: At one of the corridor.

Left: In the ladies hehehe… Lots of mirror, camwhored a bit in there until the guys thought that I fell into the toilet
The toilet is so fancy and so clean *LOL*
Right: One of the decor just next to the flush button.

Left: Potpourri just below the sink.
Right: Some spices as decor above the sink.

L-R:
Nachos beef(RM20), a moderate portion served with Mozzarella, Jalapenos, Guacamole and sour cream. It’s really tasty, recommended. Great for sharing.
Patrick ordered some beers(RM9 per mug), he drank it himself of course hahaha. Even if he ordered for us, I won’t be drinking, I can’t drink hahaha… I just don’t understand what’s so nice about beer also hahaha…
I ordered Pina Colada(RM10), Patrick thought it’s alcoholic drink
Hehehehe… Nuh~ This is the non-alcoholic version, it’s a mixture of pineapple, coconut milk topped with French Creme, I think it’s very nice, sour and at the same time the coconut milk and French creme gave balance to it, this is a very sinful drink I should say.
Allen ordered banana milkshake but apparently the bananas weren’t ripe yet, still hanging on the tree and they didn’t tell him about it until he asked for his banana. So he ended up ordered Yellow Jacket(RM10), a drink with mixture of pineapple, orange, and lemon. Sounds very sour right? According to him, it’s sour!!

Left: Some of the decor you can see from the window before going to the back.
Right: The view of the restaurant before going in.

More views of the building.

Group photo, it’s very hard to get nice colour photo in such dark place. Thanks to Patrick, he paid for everything. Nice meeting you.

Since these few months, I had been getting bad/unfortunate news from my friends, it’s like a chain reaction. Sigh… Life is so fragile, unexpected, short, twisted etc. I can’t do much to help them but can only pray for them. May God bless all of you.
Was supposed to post this up long time ago but lazy
Anyway, just to show you some extra stuffs from Ten Ichi that you can get. I don’t know their real names though, I’ll just use common names hehehe…

Left: I don’t remember what’s this
It’s a kind of fish dish with potato salad. The fish is quite salty and it’s meant for eating with rice.
Right: Grilled sardine if I’m not mistaken. In fact this is not the local sardine, it’s imported and the flesh is nicer from the local one. I don’t like local sardine, as for this, it’s not that bad still I don’t really like to eat fish with lots of bones

Fried ice cream. The ball is big. It’s different from what you get at food fair. It’s only RM3.50 if not mistaken. The ice cream is just the usual ice cream that you can get from the market. If only they can provide the filling with Japanese ice cream that they make themselves. That would be really special and of course price would be higher but I think for people that know how to appreciate it, they will think it’s worth it to spend this kind of money.
That’s all for the day
Categories: Food Porn
Here’s the photos that I took last night. My new camera made my life easier. I don’t have to spend too much time on taking steady photos.

This fair is located just outside of Boulevard. I think it will go on until the end of August.

You can “throw” your money here if you like

This is the latest addition to Boulevard Mall. Children can play here but parents please keep an eye on your children and don’t leave them there playing alone.

This is the highlight of the night, BandItogether08 where all the local bands would be performing.

Last night, there were 6 bands and I only saw 3 as I didn’t stay till the end.
Left-right: The two MCs, the two lead singers of blue-something-something, another group which I don’t remember the name.

The bloggers that went last night. Obviously everyone was lost and didn’t know what to do but sat there and watched the performance hahaha…

Hunted up and down for Blackberry to test and there’s none but notebooks and Wii bowling competition. Guess who won it? Wombok!! Hahaha… He didn’t wear his mask last night.

Finally the twist, the girls came out with the 3 Blackberries.

We got to touch and test them a bit but it’s not good enough. Couldn’t hog it for long as there were many people waiting to have a look at them and we can’t feel the usefulness of it. The first one, the navigation is on the side. The second one, it’s using joysticks to navigate. Both aren’t really nice to use, they are very hard to navigate, the joysticks one has built-in camera. You need to get used to their navigations for smooth navigation. I didn’t manage to test the third Blackberry as I had no idea where it had gone to.

After that, it’s time for STM to perform. They sang lots of songs, new and old songs.
After that, I was thinking of leaving because there’s really nothing to do there except sat, watched and listened. It was late too and my parents were waiting, they had done their shopping but who knows…

My “Blueberry” moment. -.-” You can see how Silas reacted to it. GOSH! So embarassing…

When I went up the staircase, aikss… it’s really shaky, I almost lost my balance. When going down, I was so scared ARG! DAMN shaky!! I’m very bad in balancing!! Luckily I didn’t fall and manage to got hold of my composure. Once down there, I was in a state of shock and everything went blank for quite a moment even when I’m leaving.
I think I had made a fool of myself talking up there and making some crazy requests which I don’t see those bloggers down there respond to it. They might be embarassed with what I had say. There were two more went up, one I know, one I don’t. I’m not sure was there any other bloggers went up after I left. I heard complains that there’s no freebies for them. *SHRUG* I know I got it because I was the first one reporting to them.
By the way, this event got nothing to do with kuchingbloggers.com, we were not involved in any of the organising or planning of it. We were only asked to inform the bloggers in our database about this event that everyone was invited. I know there were many people complaining and pointing fingers to us but you guys had pointed your fingers at the wrong direction.
Read the feedback here if you want.

Photos will come later. I’ll give my feedback about it first. Just got back from it one hour ago, I couldn’t stay till the end as I was tagging along with my folks as they wanted to do some shopping there. Didn’t expect to stay so long there.
Let’s talk about the good part:
- It’s refreshing to have this kind of party
- We got to move around freely to take pictures, thanks to that
- The decor wasn’t so bad
- Sound system was good
- Lighting wasn’t bad, I got many good pictures
- The Wii competition was interesting but I was lazy to play
- The effort for bringing in bloggers is GOOD! Sadly not many turned up though.
- The catwalk was a refreshing twist
The part that needs improvements and I’ll give some suggestions, hope you don’t mind since you guys said that we can talk about it whether it’s good or bad:
- Bloggers were lost, they didn’t really know how to get started
- As I said when on the stage, we were all expecting there’s few units of Blackberry(sorry that I blurted “Blueberry”, didn’t mean it, it just slipped out as I was thinking about food just now coz I was hungry
Blueberry cheesecake please…) on display and let us test it out and let us do live blogging with it so that we can brag about it hahaha… Indirect publicity! You might get some people sign up on the spot! Most of us were looking high and low for it but instead there were only two laptops. I brought my laptop along and I didn’t use it because I have no idea about the availability of WiFi. Also, at least there’s something interesting to do instead of just sitting there listening to songs and taking photos.
- There is not many information about Celcom Blackberry and we can’t blog much about it. It would be great with goodie bags that includes some Celcom merchandises and brochures about it. In fact, we were expecting at least something like this.
- Someone left a message in KuchingBloggers.com chatbox saying that bloggers that bring laptops will have goodies awaiting(refer here)… Hmm… I don’t think I got any except going up to the stage for a tube of chocolate with a cute Mr. Bean’s bear keychain. Well… Maybe later in the night but anyway I didn’t stay till the end of it. I might be wrong.
By the way, to Albert(one of the photographers there) if you read this, I’m so sorry that I actually forgot to say bye to you even though you are so near to me, in fact just next to me. My mind was blank that time after coming down from the stage as the staircase leading up the stage was shaky and I was still in a stage of shock with the shakiness(I’m afraid of shakiness especially if the platform is high with nothing that I can hold on to), and was in a rush too, I only remembered to say bye to the bloggers -.-” So sorry about that, do keep in touch. Also I couldn’t recognise you, it’s been a while not seeing you, you looked familiar to me but I just couldn’t recall who.
To wrap up this post, I would like to thank all those that involved for including us.

Scotch Haggis, traditional haggis in a skin but it’s more like traditional haggis in a plastic. My sis bought this from UK because her friend told her it’s nice *LOL* My mom decided to cook it few weeks back and we were thinking it might be some kind of sausage, who knows when we opened the can, OH DEAR! How do we eat this?!?!

We quickly did a search on the net and found this in wiki:
Haggis is a traditional Scottish dish.
There are many recipes, most of which have in common the following ingredients: sheep’s ‘pluck’ (heart, liver and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally boiled in the animal’s stomach for approximately three hours.
Haggis somewhat resembles stuffed intestines (pig intestines otherwise known as chitterlings or the kokoretsi of traditional Greek cuisine), sausages and savoury puddings of which it is among the largest types. As the 2001 English edition of the Larousse Gastronomique puts it, “Although its description is not immediately appealing, haggis has an excellent nutty texture and delicious savoury flavour.” (p592)
Most modern commercial haggis is prepared in a casing rather than an actual stomach.
Ok… What’s next?!?!

We searched for the recipe *LOL* Still ended up confused as we didn’t have all those ingredients and my dad won’t want to eat anything “new” if you get what I mean
So we decided just to heat is by steaming it and cut it open and eat the inside just like that. It doesn’t look very appetising don’t you think so? Hahaha…
It tasted like combed beef hahaha… FYI, this is made in Scotland and it’s from all the parts of pork
Anyway that’s our adventure with haggis. Here’s some ways to serve Haggis in case you still don’t get, got these from caledoniankitchen.com:
At many Bed and Breakfast establishments in Scotland, haggis is served for breakfast as a part of the wonderful “Full Scottish Breakfast”. You can usually find eggs, porridge, bacon, haggis, black pudding, kippers, tomatoes, scones, pastries, toast, as well as all the great jams and marmalades Scotland is famous for in that tremendous breakfast. Additionally, Haggis goes beautifully with scrambled eggs or over toast points on a more continental style of breakfast.

*LOL* Never in my life I did that hehehe… I didn’t know I can have second round dinner. I had just finished my dinner 15 minutes before Lee and I went to Java Juices. Summore ordered such filling dishes! Hahaha… It’s my second time there.

Now, they have WiFi available and they are grade A eatery. They don’t serve pork but they are not halal. It’s located at the same row as Madaya. If you still don’t know, just drive to Hock Lee, don’t turn into Hock Lee, drive straight up over the bridge, then go straight again, take note of the shops on your left, you will see it there. There’s a gym upstair, Muscle for Fitness, if I’m not mistaken, it belongs to the same management.
Girls! If you wanna feast your eyes
You can go there and hang out at night hahaha… Anyway, to me… They are just not my type though they have nice bodies, still not my type! Hahaha… Not interested. *LOL*
Don’t be fool by the photo as it looked empty, we were there around 8pm, there was only one couple there. Later after 9pm, so many people came for dinner! WOW! It seemed like this place is great for having late dinner huh? It’s not the youngsters but families! Surprise!

Each table has these. Yeap.. Semboi, your eyes didn’t fool you. You can have as much as you want, no charge hahaha… However, I didn’t have any, this kind of semboi just not my type. I don’t like.

We ordered a jug of juice which is only RM6.80. We ordered Kiwi, not a very good choice. It’s not pure kiwi drink I think… More like syrup. Besides kiwi, you can have papaya milk, watermelon, passion fruit juice, pink guava juice, pineapple juice, ,mixed fruits juice, or honeydew juice. This jug can share among 3-4 person. It’s really worth it.

Beef Baked Cheese Spaghetti (RM9.80), you can opt for chicken meat if you don’t eat beef. I would give this 3.5 stars over 5. The portion is quite big, you can share with 2-3 persons. I managed to finished this whole plate even though I just had dinner not too long ago *LOL* Lee tried some and most I ate. I didn’t expect I could actually finish it up with nothing left except the oil

Cheezy Fish(RM13.80), according to the menu, it’s authentic fish & chip with something special *LOL* I have no idea how authentic it was though as fish & chip is never really my type of food.
The top is actually melted cheese, nothing special. I would say 2.5 over 5 stars.
That’s all for the night. It’s been a long time not dining out with Lee. Don’t even say other friends of mine that we used to hang out with. Don’t know when will we have the chance to see everyone turns up, it’s been quite a while. Lots of catching need to do yo~
All photos taken with my new camera and all of them had their curves adjusted because I didn’t change any setting to the preset manual mode of the camera. It’s quite a surprise this camera can perform quite well under low light condition.

I’m nuts about Reader’s Digest. I don’t read anything else but this. I will never miss it. Other magazines can come and go but I’ve been reading this for more than 10 years! Every month, never fail.
Here’s one interesting article that I would like to share with you, it’s called Are You Normal or Nuts? Don’t worry if you don’t have a copy, you can always read it online. Go read Are You Normal or Nuts? and then come back here to share your views with me will you?
As many people know, I’m afraid of snake or anything long, slimy and without legs. EWWW!! This is defintely normal, so I’m not nuts. It’s just like you are scare of rats, spiders, cockcroaches and so on.
How about this? One pretty odd one of mine, I would be squeamish when wet hair stuck to my body or hand when I’m wet like when having shower and washing my hair. I must quickly remove them else I feel very uncomfortable. Talking about me with long hair and hair fall is quite common when washing.
I don’t mind dry hair that fall but the wet hair that sticks to me really makes me squirm. So? Is this nuts?
I found this one pretty interesting quirks in the article:
I cannot eat certain big, tricky-to-bite things in front of people unless I know them very well. Facing a huge sandwich at a business lunch is a nightmare. And a floppy wet salad on a date? Forget it. That’s odd, no?
Do you feel this? I’m sure many of us feel this way too! Hehehe… I’m one of them. So are we nuts? Of course not, we just want to take care of our image ;p With those that I know well, don’t care it’s male or female, I don’t care, I’ll just eat as much as I like, no matter how messy it is hehehe…
Just go read the article and find out more. You will know you are not nuts but normal.

Let’s see more food from Kuching Festival. These were taken last Sunday, we bought the food home for dinner. The photos are pretty yellowish because that’s the original lighting of my house and I didn’t use flash. I only use macro to take these photos.

These are o kueh(yam kueh) and pumpkin kueh *LOL* Don’t know how to call them with proper name
This is how we called them at home.

Left: Pineapple rice again… I usually ended up buying pineapple rice if I can’t decide what I want to buy hahaha… The one from Bangkok Thai is still the best. This is from another Thai restaurant because Bangkok Thai’s stall was packed!
Right: Penang assam laksa. Not so bad just that the weather was hot and humid, eating this was really torturing!

Left: Fried emperor noodle, so small portion, so not nice.
Right: Cuttlefish with sweet chilli sauce. Yumm…

Left: Belacan beehoon is belancan beehoon :P.
Right: I don’t remember what this is called, in Chinese it’s “guo tieh”, hahaha… Something like fried dumpling. Not nice.
Last Sunday was my fourth time there. It’s always very hot and humid there. Lazy to go even though it’s quite near to my place hahahah…

I decided to post this up after talking to Lee just now hehehe… I told him about the dream I got few days ago. I was thinking of sharing it here earlier but there’s other things to update, now I’m lazy to edit some photos so might as well share it.
Few nights ago, I dreamt that I went to Genting with my friends from college that we always hang out with.
They were Lee, Khoon How, Nick, Ann, Jee, Lee Ling, Audrey, Hui Yee and I. We went to Genting staying in the apartment or a chalet(don’t remember). We didn’t go together though. However, we all met there on the same day. Those came later actually bought some cakes form Secret Recipe, some bought donuts from JCo and Big Apple. Then some of us cook some food in the kitchen. We had all these for dinner.
Then the next day, we went to the theme park and we all had fun! After that, I woke up. Hahaha…
Such fun dream! This is my first time having dream like this. Isn’t it fun?
Hmm… When will we really have the chance to go for holiday in a group like this? It’s been a while, everyone is busy with their own commitments nowadays. It’s been a long time not hanging out together also.

Got the free demo class coupon from My Privilege Book and I went to the free demo with my sis. One person needs one coupon, so I asked for another one from Jimmy. Annna.net(has to use this as the owner of the training centre is also Anna *LOL*) was supposed to be joining us as promised months back but she got something to do last Saturday so I went with my sis.
It was not easy looking for the place. I’ve never been to that area *LOL* Asked around and I still didn’t really get how to go there. At the end my father told me how to go there from Kuching Specialist direction and I tried my luck and finally found it! Same row as Sahara Cafe, Eastern Times behind it, and there’s a J&J something-something, not the J&J Cafetaria though. I didn’t know all these places so with the instructions I got, it’s all not that helpful hahaha…
I went there from Kuching Specialist direction instead of from Friendship Park like many people told me. Drove straight up, ignored the first junction(Canna 2) on the left, go straight up and see the second junction(Lorong 2) on the left, turn into this junction and then drive until another junction on your right and turn in. You will see a big market and shops there, it’s located at one of the blocks, very easy to find as it’s not a big commercial centre.
We went in, then we were required to pay RM5 for the ingredients and we would be given takeaway. We were given with the list of recipes, there’s no instructions there, you have to write them down yourself.

I took photos of the workstation with my phone.

After I took the picture on the right, she said that we were not allowed to take any photos during the demo, we could only take the photo of the final product. So… I had to keep my phone and concentrate on what she’s teaching.

The demo for last Saturday was Mango Pudding(not in the photo, forgot to take photo of it), Taiwan Tofu Cake(right), Wholemeal Banana Cake(middle), and Fruity Jelly(left). These were what we got to bring home but in very little portion *LOL* We did eat there as well. Very delicious
I thought it would last from 2pm-5pm but it ended at around 3.30pm. WOW! So fast, 4 recipes done in such short hours, that’s what you call multitasking. Just for one recipe I could spend one whole afternoon to do it and this? Less than 2 hours! WOW! Impressive.
Anna is very friendly woman and she got a lot of achievements under her belt. She provides training for those who are interested in baking. I observed the way she taught her students during the demo as she was doing two tasks at the same time, demo and teaching, she’s really good. She doesn’t spoon feed you but encourage you to discover everything along the way by practical and asking questions. To complete the course, if you are taking once a week class, it will take you 1 year to complete the whole course to get your certificate; if you take up full-time course, it would be about 4-6 months.
I’ll share the recipes with you when I’m free, they are very easy to do
